Lock Locked up (1989) John Flynn

If Cobra (Cobra, 1986) was a reading of "Dirty Harry" (Dirty Harry, 1971) adapted to a particular time period and the history of the United States provided the perspective of a peculiar type stimulant like Sylvester Stallone, Enclosed (Lock Up, 1989) can be understood as a very distorted view of another prism film tandem of veteran Clint Eastwood and director Don Siegel, The escape of Alcatraz (Escape from Alcatraz, 1979).

I do not mean just by trivial details such as the central characters in both films address the name of Frank or begin your stay in jail in his underwear or naked, but because "Locked" and "Escape from Alcatraz" parade through elements common as old as same gender.

The bridges are there, the first, the warden despot who enjoys getting screened inmates go to whores, both the face and voice of two excellent actors, Donald Sutherland and Patrick McGoohan.

On the other hand the figure of the bully, the "Chechen" of the prison, Chino Webber (Sonny Landham) combined with the sadistic insanely homosexual tendencies and guard Manly (Jordan Lund) make the life of Frank Stallone Leone through hell, and if it is based might well result in Wolf (Bruce M. Fischer) aggressor and violator frustrated for Frank Lee Morris Clint Eastwood, that both characters end up taking refuge in the friendship of a black representative of the group, the transfer to the appellant in any film hole prison, punishment for all but the Steve McQueen in "The Great Escape" who spent time with his ball; the way the punch passes inmate inmate by the court to nowhere or the recurring theme of illusions seized, the destruction of car big swings reminiscent of chrysanthemums and the tables had been the warden of Alcatraz to piss off Clint and his companions. Are all common places masterpiece Don Siegel made his nearly thirty years ago and the director of Enclosed, John Flynn, author of the best movie ever made about revenge, Korea Express (Rolling Thunder, 1977) takes to integrate them within their prison. Even if TUVISA be awarded the authorship of the movie someone would certainly Stallone, used to review the scripts and control rather the result of their movies at that time.

But Stallone is willing to deform and renew as possible the classic look of the prison film, despite the clichés, Eastwood moves away from looking very vulnerable despite muscle to look just out of the filming of Rambo III (view today, better than the second installment) even allowing mourn in the foreground, moving back to the figure of the neighborhood loser who walks with his hands in his pockets, one of those heartwarming characters and how well you sounded out, and as to the Italian Stallion every time he came home in Rocky (Rocky, 1976) plays with the kids in his neighborhood to the ball in the opening scene of the movie, a party that is repeated in the middle of the film footage in the prison yard ("reminiscent Evasion or Victoria?), only now Stallone does not play with guys but with other inmates in the mud, lost children each in his way about better and worse to the harshness of life has led to these four walls , so it is no coincidence that Frank Leone have to take a beating to win the match, losing the ring he gave his girlfriend and ends on the ground, but despite that rises and returns to his cell, because what could make a man keep walking as part of life strikes him? that's why I put "Locked" with the saga "Rocky" also shares with the soundtrack of "Survivor" I hawk "in the category their victorious losers films, whose philosophy is summed up in Rocky Balboa (Rocky Balboa, 2006) once again demonstrating the coherence with which Sly has faced his work

- (..) No one hit as hard as life. But no matter how hard you can hit, it matters how hard you can hit you and move forward, how much you can resist, and move on (...)

So here is not consumed flight, despite having opportunities to run away, just keep moving as it always has, relying on the little things, hopes artificial, small details like that car that rehabilitate working group (the group of prisoners who tarred the roof in The Shawshank Redemption) a blatant metaphor for freedom or when Dallas (Tom Sizemore) enters the room and tells Frank,

- Sorry I could not book table - as if they had something better option

Or the time when the nurse asks Frank about the state of First Base (Larry Romano) and Dallas

answers - I have sent home - knowing both that this pushing daisies six feet underground. Small

illusions, but as Frank says Leone to first base at the time when the old man is feeding the pigeons;

"He has nothing but is more than you have ... here is a little thing, but what is there to protect you ... -

So if I had to choose a time to summarize the philosophy of the film, gives serious when Eclipse Frank pure before leaving the prison

- I got it from Fidel Castro himself - tells Eclipse, both smile and hug even a lie like a piano while playing this wonderful score by Bill Conti (author also of the OST Rocky), but it is best that Eclipse and makes it clear that even if you stay locked inside are not going to fail to live by illusions, and if there is us they are going to have to invent dreams are themselves not belong to anyone, not even the governor, Stallone reminds us when he was released from the hole and tells his colleagues do not think that the car belongs or the shop because everything is owned by the warden.

What choice we have to continue living, we are inside or outside prison, as a teacher of mine used to say, in life are going to have ups and downs but will remember only the good, so despite what you have bitched that Leone will miss the Captain Meissner (John Amos) is, "that amazing smile of yours."

Better than a trailer, a video clip of super survivor theme of "Ever Since The World Began" for the film, which also continuing with the issue of not escape, stay and face to emerge victorious in what was saying and I

Along
stand a man of stone

Against the driving rain
Behold the greatness of Stallone, who was riding a prison leak movie with no escape, that speaks of friendship in difficult times and reminds us once again that one hit as hard as life.
